Social Emotional Health and Strategies for Coping with Stress Among University Students

W artykule zaprezentowano badania nad stresem studenckim, w których poszukiwano zależności między poziomem zdrowia społeczno-emocjonalnego studentów a stosowanymi przez nich strategiami radzenia sobie. Oceny poziomu zdrowia dokonano z wykorzystaniem konstruktu covitality. Badaniami z wykorzystaniem ankiety internetowej CAWI objęto N=491 studentów. Zastosowano Inwentarz do Pomiaru Radzenia Sobie ze Stresem w polskiej adaptacji Z. Juczyńskiego i N. Ogińskiej-Bulik oraz zaadaptowaną przez autorki Skalę Zdrowia Społeczno-Emocjonalnego w wersji dla studentów (SEHS-HE) autorstwa M. Furlonga. W analizie danych zastosowano metodę korelacji oraz regresji wielokrotnej.
Wyniki pokazały, że wysoki poziom zdrowia społeczno-emocjonalnego sprzyja radzeniu sobie z wykorzystaniem strategii poszukiwania wsparcia emocjonalnego oraz pozytywnego przewartościowania. Okazało się też, że strategie te są pozytywnymi predykatorami zdrowia społeczno-emocjonalnego a wzmacnianiu jego zasobów nie służy wykorzystywanie w transakcjach stresowych strategii unikowych.
Wyniki wskazują na potrzebę wdrażania programów edukacyjnych ukierunkowanych na kształtowanie u studentów zasobów zdrowia społeczno-emocjonalnego.
