The role of documentation in the organization of an educational project in grades I-III

The understanding of the teaching-learning process as a way conducive to the development of competences necessary for personal fulfilment and development, active citizenship, social integration and employment, in accordance with the Recommendation of the Council of 22 May 2018, highlights the importance of the educational project as a method enabling the development of key competences in children.
The aim of the research was to determine the role of documentation in the organization of an educational project in working with children from grades I-III. Due to the need to improve the documentation process, an attempt was made to describe the issue, as well as to derive tips for practice.
It was helpful in recognizing the shades of the studied reality to conduct qualitative research using the concept of three-layer data analysis by Maria Szymańska. The analysis and interpretation of statements made by students of pre-school and early school education Ignatianum University in Cracow taking part in the study became the starting point for showing the advantages of a solidly conducted documentation process, which is important for the teacher, children and their parents to perceive the competences acquired by children during project activities.
