The article serves as a guide to applying principle-based concept analysis to studying romantic competence in adolescents and young adults. The methodology enables a multidimensional theoretical and practical analysis of concepts that are variably defined and operationalized.
A systematic review was conducted using databases such as Scopus, ERIC, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Ebscohost, Oaister, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate. Keywords related to romantic competence and adolescent romantic relationships guided the search. The selection process followed PRISMA guidelines, and the included articles were assessed for quality using a tool adapted for this study.
The literature on romantic competence was evaluated based on four principles: epistemological, pragmatic, linguistic, and logical. This methodological approach emphasizes the importance of transparency, reliability, and replicability, making it a valuable tool for advancing both theoretical and practical applications in the social sciences.
