distance education, research trends, research problems, research methodsAbstract
In this article, distance education is considered from the perspective of research problems, interdisciplinary links, key researchers, applied research methods and emerging trends. The aim is to establish: what has dominated and shaped the scientific discussion on distance education; what problems have been researched; what research methods have been used in research projects; how published research results contributed to the development of science and what changes are currently being articulated. The author presents an overview of selected journals, considering works from the last five years and making comparative analyses.
On their basis, it will be possible to identify under-researched problems, plan more in-depth studies and derive recommendations for future scientific projects. New research problems and methodological directions have been noticed, including their interdisciplinary nature. This article contributes to a discussion of the above issues.
