Człowiek: całość i jedność w swojej strukturze fizyczno-psychiczno-duchowej. Jest on zawsze otwarty na świat, który go otacza. Zawsze szuka czegoś lub kogoś. Otwiera się na transcendencję… i w ten sposób odkrywa cudowność istnienia. Oto niektóre główne myśli, które zostały przedstawione w niniejszym artykule traktującym o zasadniczej potrzebie każdego człowieka, którą jest potrzeba sensu własnej egzystencji. Człowiek nie może żyć bez sensu. Sens jest wrodzoną własnością ludzkiej podmiotowości. Zdarzają się jednak w życiu momenty pustki egzystencjalnej, kiedy osoba traci sens, zapomina o nim, zamykając się w trudnych sytuacjach życiowych nie widząc z nich wyjścia. Według twórcy teorii analizy egzystencjalnej i logoterapii nie ma takich sytuacji, które mogłyby przekreślić sens życia człowieka. Zawsze można go odnaleźć, gdyż zawsze jest obecny w człowieku właściwy system motywacyjny nazwany przez Frankla potrzebą sensu. Treść przedłożonego artykułu zdaje się wnosić kilka znaczących sugestii w odniesieniu do problemów człowieka współczesnej kultury. Teoria i doświadczenie zawodowe Frankla pozwala znaleźć skuteczną metodę w rozwiązywaniu najważniejszych problemów ludzkiej egzystencji związanych z utratą sensu życia.
