The Time of the Pandemic – A Look at the Functioning of Polish Families: Survey Report

Abstract

The aim of the survey presented in this report was to explore the functioning of Polish families during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The main purpose was to determine how families coped with new challenges and adapted to new living conditions. The study population consisted of two hundred subjects, and the study itself addressed three areas: the functioning of adults, the functioning of children in their parents’ perception, and the functioning of marital and family relations. The results demonstrated that despite numerous difficulties associated with the reorganization of home life and with personal problems, the pandemic situation did not adversely affect family relations in the study population. Moreover, in most subjects, the pandemic had positive effects as it strengthened family relationships.
