Moral Challenges of the Global Pact on Education in the Teaching of Pope Francis

The main aim of the article is to analyze the concept of the Global Pact on Education and the proposal to put it into practice on the basis of the teaching of Pope Francis. The idea of a new “educational alliance” is an appropriate and integral attempt to respond to the present challenges in the context of the epoch change and the search for a new humanism. This concept has not yet been extensively covered in Polish, therefore the article presents its main assumptions and ethical implications. Seven levels of the implementation of the educational pact are discussed, and so are the resulting moral challenges: appreciating the mission of the school, rediscovering the identity of Catholic schools and revealing the new role of universities and the value of beauty in the process of human formation.
