Magisterium AI en la investigación teológica y la evangelización: desafíos y perspectivas

Desde 2019, la inteligencia artificial (IA) ha asumido un papel cada vez más central en la vida cotidiana. No obstante, esta etapa en la evolución de la IA representa solo el inicio de avances aún más significativos. Conscientes del papel fundamental que la Iglesia debe desempeñar en el desarrollo de la IA, diversas instituciones católicas han intensificado su compromiso con esta frontera tecnológica. Entre ellas se encuentra Longbeard, promotora de Magisterium AI, una iniciativa orientada a desarrollar un sistema de inteligencia artificial capaz de responder a cuestiones relativas a la fe católica, fundamentándose en una extensa base de datos de documentos magisteriales y académicos. Este artículo ofrece un análisis crítico del estado actual de Magisterium AI a partir de su Informe 2025, su presentación para inversores y su formulario de retroalimentación de usuarios, así como de una interacción directa con la plataforma, con el propósito de evaluar su adecuación a los principios éticos católicos. En particular, se señala la ampliación de la base de datos como un ámbito prioritario de mejora, al tiempo que se reflexiona sobre los desafíos inherentes a dicha tarea. El estudio concluye que el desarrollo de una IA católica no se reduce a la mera recopilación de documentos, sino que exige una comprensión profunda de la Escritura y sus tradiciones interpretativas; un conocimiento sistemático de la teología en su conjunto; un dominio amplio de la historia de las ideas, incluyendo la evolución de la cultura, el arte, la filosofía y la teología; así como una sensibilidad refinada a las transformaciones del lenguaje y a las dinámicas culturales a través de las cuales se expresan las verdades eternas.
