Abstract

The present article is aimed at show the transformation of the Italian electoral legislation, starting from the period just after the Second World War until contemporary times. The point of departure for the present analyses is the discussion around the provisions of the Italian Republic’s Constitution of 1947, related to the issues of electoral right. The author also shows the specific evolution of italian electoral law, starting from a proportional system and up to the contemporary majority system. The author also dedicates much space to an analysis of the recent legislative proposals about the Italian electoral system.
