A few notes about the meaning of the lexical unit [ktoś1] spoliczkował [kogoś2 ]

Abstract

The article discusses the semantic features of the lexical unit [ktoś] spoliczkował [kogoś] which belongs to the contact predicate class. The author conducting the semantic analysis with the use of the structural methods (the model of reductional component semantics and functional syntax) makes an attempt to discover the semantic structure of the linguistic unit in question [ktoś1] spoliczkował [kogoś2]. At the same time, the author tries to emphasise that this verb is of communicative nature which means that the action to which it refers serves to convey some meaning. The conclusions show that the unit [ktoś1] spoliczkował [kogoś2] is at the intersection of the perception and speaking predicates.
