The deaths of Kings Joram and Ahaziah are described differently in the Hebrew Bible and the Tel Dan Stele, a discrepancy that has sparked considerable controversy among biblical historians. The aim of this article is to present and explain the reasons behind this controversy and to offer a reinterpretation of the source texts on the basis of the author’s own observations.
