Bray and Thomas’ concept of multilevel analysis, comparative education, geographical location dimension,, demographic groups,, education and society aspectAbstract
The article aims to provide a detailed discussion of Bray and Thomas’ concept of multilevel analysis in the context of comparative education studies. Mark Bray and Murray Thomas developed a model that enables comprehensive comparisons of educational systems, taking into account their complex geographical, social, cultural, and political contexts. The author of the article
not only describes the structure of this model but also demonstrates its practical application in comparative studies. This allows for a better understanding of the interactions between various levels of analysis – from global educational systems, through national and local levels, to individual approaches in schools and classrooms. The examples of comparative studies included in the article illustrate how the concept of multilevel analysis can be implemented in practice, helping researchers to better interpret the differences and similarities between educational systems and to adapt educational reforms to specific local needs.
