On the Immortality of the Soul in B. Spinoza’s Ethics Demonstrated in Geometrical Order

B. Spinoza in his Ethics Demonstrated in Geometrical Order argues for the immortality of the human soul (or mind). However, during the course of the detailed analysis it becomes apparent that the alleged immortality has very little in common with the one favored by the traditional metaphysics. In this article I examine Spinoza’s argumentation and show that the proofs of the theorems he referred to are problematic.
