About the Journal
Focus and Scope
“Zagadnienia Naukoznawstwa” main goals are:
Promoting research results from disciplines contributing to science of science
Showing new tendencies in research and scientific directions of progress
Debating current urgent problems of academia
Emphasizing social role of science and methods of transfer of its findings to society
Promoting Polish science, especially in case of foreign readers
Internationalization of the Journal through english language publications and inviting foreign authors for collaboration
The Mission of the Journal Committee and Editorial Board is integration of members of academia in order to create open discussion and collaboration forum for representatives of various scientific disciplines and public institutions that are concerned with scientific work (i.e. MNiSW, NCN, NCBiR, FNP, OPI). Taking head on the current and most important problems for academia, the Journal facilitates expert, and opinion-generating function of Polish Academy of Science Committee of Problems of Science of Science in creating science policy (especially in case of disciplines, directions of progress, and priorities in disciplines represented by the Committee). The Journal is open to new ideas in approaches to sciecne (in finding new tools and research strategies) as well as channels for transfering scientific findings into general populace.
Topic range of the Journal
“Problems of Science of Science” quarterly has interdisciplinary profile and presents original work form a vast variety of subjects and problems of science, approached in different aspects of theoretical disciplines (such as theory and methodology of science, philosophy of science, axiology, logic of knowledge, history of science, psychology and sociology of science), as well as practical, concerning institutionalized scientific activities in the context of various external conditions (societal, cultural, economical, political), creation of science policies (including evaluation), application of modern trends (neuroscience, artificial intellignece) and technology (informatics, nantechnology) in order to use and project research strategies, and in ethical aspect, to introduce responsible innovation and scientific ethos.
The journal accepts articles that present empirical research, theoretical work, methods and research techniques, materials from scientific debates, and on-demand article topics that present stances and opinions on variety of subjects debated within the Journal.
