Abstract

This article describes an event of great historical importance for the Church in Poland: the solemn act of entrusting the Polish Nation and Church to Saint Joseph. The event was preceded by a national retreat in which the faithful from all over Poland could participate thanks to media broadcasts. The meditations delivered as part of the retreat between October 3 and October 7, 2021 by famous Polish theologians and preachers portrayed St. Joseph as the Guardian of the Universal Church and the Patron of marriage and family, with particular emphasis on the role of the father in the family, and as the protector of life from conception until natural death. In a difficult time for the Church and the world, St. Joseph can help solve the most difficult problems that affect the modern-day man. Contemplation and imitation of the life of the Patriarch of Nazareth and his relationship with Jesus and Mary are very relevant in today’s world, which is in such great need of love, justice, peace and unambiguous moral attitudes.
