Axiological Christology of Józef Tischner

The article examines the problem of axiological view of Christology in the thought of Józef Tischner. This outstanding Polish thinker is known for his contribution to the field of axiology. On the other hand, his Christological thought is almost completely unknown. However, in his works, he shows that thanks to axiological view on the person of Christ, one can refresh and deepen the traditional approach to Christology. By analyzing four modern Christological propositions that question traditional Christology, authored by neo-Hegelians, Renanists, Bultmann and Jaspers, the Krakow thinker tries to extract from them a common, axiological core, which allows him to create a new axiological approach to Christology. This article aims to reconstruct and, where necessary, formulate a creative complementary synthesis of the vision of Christology proposed by Tischner on the basis of three of his works: Philosophy Waiting for Incarnation, Jesus of Existentialism and Towards a Transcendence which is a Person.
