The article “Youcat, a tool of joyful new evangelization” consists of four parts. In the first, in the light of the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii gaudium by Pope Francis, Beata Bilicka briefly describes what a new evangelization is. In the second, she characterizes Youcat catechism for young people, indicating its advantages. The next part of the article contains the analyzes of selected junior high school religion textbooks, carried out in reference to the use of Youcat catechism. In the last part the author advocates the need for better reception of Youcat in catechesis and gives suggestions on how to use it in teaching religion at school.
