About the Journal
“Pelplin Studies” is published by the Major Seminary in Pelplin in collaboration with the “Bernardinum” Academic Publishing House. The first issue of the annual journal, published in 1969, was edited by Bishop Kazimierz Józef Kowalski. The mission and purpose of the now-defunct journal was to revive the academic splendor of the Chełmno region, characteristic of the interwar period.
The mission of "Pelplin Studies" is to integrate the academic community of the diocese and to promote, on a national and international scale, the advanced education of the people of Pomerania. The articles published in its volumes cover the humanities, with a focus on theology, philosophy, and history.
“Pelplin Studies” is a peer-reviewed journal.
The editors of “Pelplin Studies” have been: Fr. Eugeniusz Wajszczak (1969), Fr. Wacław Eborowicz (1971–1979), Bishop Zygfryd Kowalski (1980–1981), Fr. Jerzy Buxakowski (1982–1992), Fr. Wiesław Mering (1996–2002), Fr. Antoni Bączkowski (2003–2013), and Fr. Janusz Szulist (since 2013).
The journal is indexed in the ERIH Plus, BazHum, PBN/POL-Index, ICI Journals Master List, and Google Scholar databases.
