20 years of “Rocznik Przekładoznawczy” – authors, themes, and traces

Abstract

This paper offers a retrospective overview of the twenty years of activity of “Rocznik Przekładoznawczy” (Translation Studies Journal) that has been published continuously at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń since 2005. The paper outlines the origins of the Journal and the evolution of its editorial board. It also depicts the development of its structure and the profile of the papers published over the years. An important part of the study is devoted to acknowledging the journal’s contributors – including its most prolific authors – as well as the reviewers responsible for maintaining the scholarly quality of “Rocznik”. The paper also addresses the systematic institutional development of the journal, highlighting, in particular, the pioneering implementation of the Open Access model on the APCz (digital publications) platform and the inclusion of “Rocznik” in the prestigious Scopus database. This paper presents “Rocznik Przekładoznawczy” as a forum for dialogue between translation theory, practice, and translation teaching that brings together scholars and professional translators alike.
