W artykule podjęto próbę przedstawienia przydatności nurtu semiotycznego w refleksji nad przekładem. Syntetyczne potraktowanie Jakobsonowskiego podziału na przekład wewnątrzjęzykowy, międzyjęzykowy i intersemiotyczny umożliwia analizę przekładanego tekstu w porządku semiotycznym. Zastąpienie kryterium ekwiwalencji potrójnym kryterium podobieństwa, indeksalności i konwencjonalności pozwala osiągać lepsze rezulaty przekładowe, stwarzając jednocześnie skuteczne narzędzie dydaktyczne.
