breast cancer, husband as an informal caregiver, narrative interview, Listening guide methodAbstract
The subject of the analysis is the reflection of a woman with breast cancer’s husband on his role as her informal caregiver. In the narrator’s statements, the tension between the idea of an ideal husband and caregiver and the assessment of his own efforts to support a ill wife was very clear. The self-evaluation made by the narrator definitely disadvantages him, and at the same time is in clear contradiction to his description of his actions for the well-being of his wife and the high quality of their relationship.References
