The journal publishes papers coming from all branches of linguistics: general and specific, synchronic and historical. The articles are accepted in Polish and other Slavic languages, as well as in English, German and French.

Rules of reviewing

The editor conducts a preliminary evaluation of the papers submitted to print in the "Linguistica Copernicana" journal. Those papers that do not meet the basic substantive, linguistic or formal requirements of academic work are rejected. Authors of papers, which were prepared without following instructions provided in Information for authors, are kindly asked to edit their texts.

The papers that successfully pass the preliminary evaluation are then subject to the process of double-blind review by independent reviewers of editors' choice. The reviewers come from academic institutions not affiliated with the authors. The list of reviewers cooperating with the editor is published once a year, i.e. in every second issue of the journal. A review is provided in a written form and includes a clear decision of either acceptance or rejection for print (review form). If a paper is accepted, but a reviewer indicates necessary corrections, an author is obliged to follow the proposed provisions and apply them in the text. In accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education concerning the reviewing procedure, the paper is evaluated by two reviewers. An exception to this rule is a situation when the subject matter of a given paper constitutes a research area of a small group of specialists. In such circumstances, the editor may accept a paper based on a single positive review. The articles and summaries are then sent for verification to native speakers, according to the language of a given paper.

The final decision of acceptance to print or rejection is made by the editor in chief, the editorial board and the editorial Collegium - the decision is conclusive.
