Ethnographic writing workshop: four stories
Abstract
The presented collection is a small overview of the effects of the Writing Workshops. One of the tasks was to create an anthropologist as a heroine/protagonist. Urszula Małecka supposedly uses patterns known from the Harry Potter series, but she gives them a completely different meaning, which she reveals suspensefully at the end of her story. Zuzanna Nalepa talks about the backstage of fieldrecording, generously saturating her story with the jargon of mountain climbers. Aleksandra Krzyżaniak uses the formula of an ethnographic interview, which is original insofar as it is embedded in a truly diabolical entourage. Zuzanna Majerowicz, on the other hand, takes "Mrs. Stefa" into the cosmic future, where a collision with a meteor calls into question the presentation of a special exhibition. Different voices, different styles. They are united by one thing: a deep faith in the transformative power of anthropology. This is perhaps one of the most surprising – but also heartening – ethnographic results.
