The historical sources focusing on present and former Polish lands and the Ukrainian archives in Lviv are not entirely penetrated yet. This concerns especially the materials dealing with the economic history. Therefore, during the queries conducted in the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv the archives relating to the Polish Merchant Congregation in Toruń, which was in 1933, were found. The congress in Toruń took place in a very unfavourable moment for Polish trade because of the Great Depression. Nonetheless, those who participated in the congregation made an attempt to improve the state of the Christian trade in Poland. Despite the fact that the postulates were partly realised, most problems concerning Polish merchants were not solved at that time.Downloads
