First part of an article presents antient written evidences of sailing on the Dead Sea, conditions of sailing, iconographic sources, and archaeological evidences found around the Dead Sea, i.e. anchors. Sources of different kind confirm that men were sailing on the Dead Sea from 7th century BC to 2nd century AD, and again from 10th to 13th century AD.
