Jude 5-10, rhetorical invention, epicheirema, God's judgment, impietyAbstract
This article aims to demonstrate the rhetorical status of the matter and the inventiveness supporting one piece of evidence (vv. 5–10) in the persuasive argumentation of the Epistle of Jude.
The specific logical structure of this proof suggests the complex status of the issue raised by the author. The analysis of the rhetorical structure of this proof and the assessment of its main persuasive features lead to conclusions indicating the purpose of this proof – preparing recipients to make the right choice, teaching what impiety is and how it manifests itself, and explaining the complex state of the matter (presumption, definition, value assessment).
