The article is called The Holy Scripture and the eternal Word of God in Expositio Symboli Apostolorum of Johannes Marienwerder. The subject f the analysis is late medieval work of Johannes Marienwerder (Jan z Kwidzyna) (1342-1417) Expositio Symboli Apostolorum (1399-1401). The main objective of the article is determine the importance of Scripture in Expositio. Attention was paid to two dimensions of the biblical analysis present in this work. The first: didactic and epistemological dimesion. Second: dimension typically theological focused on the uniqueness of the Word of God. Johannes Marienwerder devotes much attention to the relationship God the Father and Son of God, who is His Eternal Word. The article includes four points: 1) Expositio Symboli Apostolorum as the main theological work of Johannes Marienwerder; 2) Biblical texts in Expositio; 3) Holy Scripture as a way of knowledge; 4) Jesus Christ as the eternal Word of God. The article is a contribution to further research on biblical hermeneutics of Johannes Marienwerder, the theologian and spiritual director of Dorothea of Montau.
