Abstract

The article addresses the problems related to the development of the social and professional structure of medieval Chełmno in the light of the preserved city books. The text discusses the sources for research on the socio-topography of this city along with the research possibilities and methods. . The annex presents a list of townspeople of the great quarter, which was prepared on the basis of several tax registers and other archival sources. The city plan at the end of the article presents a grid of plots of land with a color marking of the professions practiced by people living in the houses constructed on them.
