Immanuel Kant, practical philosophy, metaphysic of morals, groundingAbstract
The article concerns one of the principal and most important motifs of Kantian practical philosophy, namely the perspective of determination of the grounds of the metaphysic of morals. As a starting point I take the explanation of terminological inaccuracies resulting from the conventions used in Polish translations of Kant’s works. The next step leads to clearing the grossest misinterpretations and misunderstandings concerning the key ideas of Kantian practical philosophy. In the main part of the article I present the meaning of the conception of ”grounding” of the metaphysic of morals for the whole Kant’s philosophy (which is clearly seen when we compare the practical philosophy with his conception of the metaphysics of nature).
