Abstract

The article concerns the famous essay Über ein vermeintes Recht, aus Menschenliebe zu lügen being a polemic with the views of Benjamin Constant about the duty to tell the truth. In the new literature concerning the essay a tendency to sharpen the view Kant presents there. Such interpretations point out that the mentioned work does not include any questionable thesis, since it deals only with specific questions concerning moral duty. However the question arises about the rightness of the interpretation.
