Abstract

The influence of the anti-religious campaign of the Soviet government on confessional life of the Roman Catholic Church is examined in the article, based on the study of special literature and involvement and complex analysis of the archival sources. Changes that took place in the Roman Catholic denomination due to pressure of the Soviet authorities on it, in particular reduction of its network in the western regions ofUkrainein 1958–1964, are analyzed.
