The child's freedom of conscience and religion defines a certain sphere of behaviour that the child can realise. However, the child is not a fully autonomous body. He or she is under the authority of his or her parents and is also obliged to attend school. Freedom of conscience and religion are included in articles 48 and 53 of the Constitution, which guarantee everyone freedom of conscience and religion, while parents are given the right to bring up their children in accordance with their own beliefs. However, this upbringing should take into account the maturity of the child.
