Maria Jaczynowska, Irena Janosz-Biskupowa and their work at the Faculty of Humanities of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń

Abstract

The article, which focuses on the biographies of two historians: Maria Jaczynowska and Irena Janosz-Biskupowa, focuses on the analysis of the life, work and contribution of these figures to the history of the university, with particular attention to the social and political context in which they operated. The two selected figures are presented both from the perspective of their scholarly achievements and influence on the formation of Polish historiography, as well as their work for society and the development of didactics. The article also highlights the importance of women in historical sciences.
