Kazimierz Wajda as an Outstanding Researcher of the Socio-economic History of Toruń and Pomerania

The article presents the profile and academic career path of Professor Kazimierz Wajda, who was associated with the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń for a large part of his professional life. He was an outstanding
researcher of social and economic history as well as demographic issues of
Toruń and Pomerania. He was also interested in national, religious and political issues. He wrote extensive, detailed and well researched chapters of monographs of Pomeranian and Kuyavian cities concerning the history of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He was a valued educator and organizer
of university life. Six Doctoral and about two hundred Master degrees were
granted under his supervision.
