On the Enslaving Freedom of Will in B. Pascal's Philosophy

The motto of the consideration is B. Pascal’s statement: “It’s not good to be too freedom”. The scope of consideration on the subject freedom is determined by two issues: “acceptable range of freedom”, “three orders of things – body, mind, will”. The freedom in Pascal’s philosophy is an important context for his statements about mind and will, which are opposed to each other. The body is determined by nature, therefore it is not taken into account in the considerations about the freedom. The aim of the article is to demonstrate the way of understanding the freedom and its role in Pascals’ philosophy. Also to draw attention to the consequences that arise from the analysis of the issue of freedom in relation to the mind and will. Particular attention was paid to the relationship between mind and will, which is conditioned by freedom.
