The SWG focused on raising aesthetic and quality standards in an attempt to create a competitive model of ‘clothing culture’ in the context of competition with Western markets. The SWG activities also had a propaganda dimension, attempting to illustrate the achievements of the socialist industry. The text includes an analysis of the effectiveness of the group’s activities and its impact on the availability of goods to consumers.
