Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
The author agrees to the terms and conditions of the License Agreement with Nicolaus Copernicus University. The content of the agreement is available HERE. With regard to the joint publication, the author submitting an article for publication fills in a statement concerning the percentage contribution, in which the contributions of particular co-authors in the submitted text are given. The content of the work is known to all its authors who give permission for it to be published. The completed statement must be uploaded as an additional file along with the article.
Author Guidelines
Publishing in our journal is connected with obeying few basic rules that refers to form and substance of papers. Each paper accepted for publishing should be the effect of research unpublished in any other form before. The authors have to fulfill and send us following form (download).
Basic rules of acceptance of the paper for printing:
Accordance with a yearbook profile.
Accordance of content with the title, key words and abstract.
Other editing rules (technical) are in following file (download). All papers should be sent to this platform or to: nowemedia@umk.pl, redakcja@nowemedia.umk.pl. We do not return not ordered papers and reserve the right to edit and abridge the papers.
Schedule
Two weeks after the deadline for a particular issue, the Editing Team informs the author of submitted paper about qualifying for next stages or rejection because of formal failure. Accepted paper is sent to independent internal reviewer. Within one month the author receives the decision and the valuation of the paper. There are cases possible: a) paper is accepted with suggestions of changes. Then the author has two weeks to take a stance on the review, b) paper is accepted without any suggestions of changes. The secretaries of yearbook mediate each time in communication between Editing Team and the author.
In next stage all accepted papers are combined by Editing Team in one issue of New Media and sent to independent reviewer who within three months send us the review and, hereafter, the reviews are sent to the authors. Each author has three weeks to take a stance on the review, what is the condition for the paper being published. There are three cases possible: a) the paper can be rejected by reviewer, b) the paper can be accepted with suggestions of changes. Then the author has two weeks to take a stance on the review, c) paper is accepted without any suggestions of changes.
Ghostwriting and guest authorship
We implemented ghostwriting and guest authorship blocks. Hence, the authors have to obey certain rules:
If the paper was written by more than one person, an input (information on: affiliation, who is responsible for the idea, thesis, methods, protocol etc.) of each author in work process has to be indicated. The person submitting the paper takes the main responsibility for the paper.
If the paper or research was financed by any institution, the authors are responsible to supply an accurate information.
If submitted paper will violate scientific integrity, ethical rules or other rules indicated above, the Editing Team shall expose the unreliable practices and inform proper institutions.
Privacy Statement
By creating an account in the profile of the journal, I also agree to receive notifications via e-mail. Newsletters will inform about the publication of new issues of the journal or other matters related to the journal's activity.
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
