The author describes how the contact changes characteristic of the Balkan languages remodel the Macedonian grammatical system. She starts from the changes of the extention of the grammaticalized information and procedes to changes in the form and distribution of the surface exponents of that information. She underlines the remarkable parallel between the results of the "Balkan" changes and the results of the evolution of the grammatical systems of the English and of the great Roman languages of Western Europe and supports the hypothesis that the actual West European situation is also due to contact changes.Bibliografia
