The paper Amélie cleans the toilet and Jiro dreams of sushi: Film images of work in the Japanese style is dedicated to two films: David Gelba’s documentary Jiro dreams of sushi and the film adaptation of Amelie Nothomb’s autobiographical novel Fear and Trembling. The main focus of the paper are the two different reflections on Japanese work philosophy, presented by artists outside Japan, regarded in the context of positioning theory. Both the position of women and foreigners in the Japanese society and corporations are essential aspects of the analysis of the films.Descargas
