The subject of the analysis is the collective jubilee book: Ks. Piotr Skarga SJ (1536-1612). Życie i dziedzictwo, ed. R. Darowski SJ, S. Ziemiański SJ, Kraków 2012. The comparison of the two texts in the book published by the Krakow Jesuits allows to withstand two verbal presentations of the figure of Piotr Skarga: historical (written by Kasper Drużbicki SJ - dated most likely the 17th century) and of the jubilee (by Roman Darowski SJ). In the text of the contemporary Jesuit the Counter-Reformation activity of Skarga have been minimized and the Union of Brześć obscured: the struggle against Protestants and his political activities as a royal preacher. In this way, (broadly speaking) the enemy of Protestants became a propagator of Christian unity.
