The article presents data on the current state of dental morbidity in children with psychophysical developmental disabilities in the world. The morbidity of hard tooth tissues, periodontal tissues, the state of oral hygiene, and the presence of dentofacial anomalies are highlighted. Due to the peculiarities of motor skills or sensory sensations, children with psychophysical developmental disabilities cannot always properly care for their oral cavity, which increases their risk of developing dental diseases, such as caries, poor oral hygiene, periodontal disease, and dentofacial anomalies.
Dental prevention and treatment of children with psychophysical development disorders should take into account the individual needs of a particular patient and include a number of dental procedures, training in self-care of the oral cavity, prescribing certain products for oral hygiene and improving the general condition of the body, adjusting the diet, etc.
