Abstract

Introduction Sexuality of people aged 60+ is a sphere that presents many challenges. Special attention should be paid to media messages that mainly glorify 'young and beautiful' individuals. There is little focus on the sexuality of seniors, alongside a vast amount of information about pension and disability benefits.

Material and methods The study was conducted among 96 women, of which 69 had diagnosed hypertension, and 27 were without hypertension. This work utilized the diagnostic survey method. The research was conducted using the SQOL-F questionnaire.

Results: No negative impact of hypertension was observed in all domains of SQOL-F and its overall score.

Conclusions: Among female patients with hypertension, there is no statistically significant negative impact of this disease on sexual aspects. Patients with hypertension require a greater focus on educational activities aimed at ensuring proper control of blood pressure values, as well as regular visits and adherence to therapeutic recommendations.
