Abstract

The concept of landscape diversity is now discussed within the context of sustainable development and strategic European environmental policy. However in these fields the concept is still not defined clearly, that prevents its applications to both scientific and applied purposes. The article shows that the landscape diversity is a complex multidimensional attribute and reveals itself in various forms. Four basic forms (dimensions) of landscape diversity are identified, namely spatially-structural, anthropocentric, biocentric, and humanistic. The set of indexes for quantitative assessment and mapping of these forms of landscape diversity is proposed.

            Резюме

            Поняття ландшафтного різноманіття зараз розглядається в контексті сталого розвитку та стратегічних завдань європейської екополітики. Однак, в цих полях дане поняття лишається невизначеним, що перешкоджає його ефективному використанню в наукових і прикладних цілях. В статті показано, що ландшафтне різноманіття – складна багатовимірна властивість, яка проявляє себе у різних формах. Визначено чотири основні форми (виміри) ландшафтного різноманіття, якими є просторово-структурне, ландшафтно-антропічне, ландшафтно-біоцентричне і ландшафтно-гуманістичне різноманіття ландшафту. Для їх кількісного аналізу та картографування запропоновано комплекс показників й визначені напрямки їх використання.
