About the Journal
‘Folia Toruniensia’ is a scientific, peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal. It is published by the Provincial Public Library – the Copernicus Library in Toruń in cooperation with the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
The annual journal was founded in 2000, and since the 16th vol. it has been published under an open-access, non-exclusive license under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0). We collect submissions until the end of April. The issue was published in November.
We accept submissions only in English.
The journal features articles in the fields of library and information science, as well as social communication and media. We publish about 7-10 articles per issue, including 5-6 original articles, 1-2 reviews and 1-2 reports. The mission of the journal is to serve as a forum where the best Polish and foreign scientist present their research. The Editorial Team warmly invites those interested in cooperation.
The journal does not charge fees for submitting text for review, preparing articles for publication, or publishing articles.
Every year, we await the submissions by the end of April. In May, we conduct an initial selection. Then, the selected texts are reviewed. At the end of summer, we decided on publication.

We want to inform you of an issue that occurred last month with a submission to our journal, ‘Folia Toruniensia,’ from Vincent Opara of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences. During our review of the manuscript, ‘Cultural Heritage Stewardship in a dynamic age: A Theoretical Model for Application in African Society,’ one of our reviewers identified an issue with the references. It turns out that it contains non-existent publications. According to the reviewer, this is the result of using AI. We asked the author about this, but didn't receive a satisfactory answer. Consequently, we rejected the submission.
