Roy Andersen has investigated Norway’s international situation during the First World War, analysing the problematic position of this country and showing its political and economic dependence on Great Britain, Germany, and, to a lesser extent, the United States and France. In addition to a new perspective on the presentation of the issue, the work has shown the vital role played by neutral Norway in the conflict of 1914–1918.
