The teaching of St. Ambrose on human nature, which has fallen as a result of original sin, is closely based on the message contained in the Holy Scripture. In making the faithful aware of the current human condition, the bishop of Milan does his utmost to facilitate their progress in internal development. He takes every opportunity to draw practical conclusions for the good Christian life of the faithful, who, by renouncing sin, would strive for a profound cognizance of God and for developing a true love for Him.
