The presence and the action of the Holy Trinity is the source of the unity of the Church. God the Father, by sending His only begotten Son into the world, makes him the Head of the Church. He also unites all the people who believe in Him in such a way that they become His body – the Church – which is always united and universal in terms of space and time. This means that the Church is not limited to only one place or one group of Christians, but it comprises all those people who belong to Christ, and extends to the ends of the earth. The unity of the Church and inside the Church is also the act of the Holy Spirit who descends upon the disciples of Christ to give them the gift of unanimity.
Another bonds, which unite many churches in one Church, include one faith which takes the form of doctrine; baptism through which Christians were included in the body of Christ; the one Gospel which we all listen to; some psalms sung by Christians throughout the world; one Passover celebrated by all; common prayer in which they call God the Father; or the same sacraments, thanks to which all the people obtain the same grace from God. The basis of this unity is love which has been poured into the hearts of the disciples of Christ through the Holy Spirit. It is the factor that unites churches and makes the community of the Christians' hearts possible. Thanks to this love, many churches scattered throughout the world constitute always one universal Church.
