Abstract

This study seeks to identify some philosophical presuppositions required for the study of St. Thomas Aquinas' biblical commentaries on Sacred Scripture. In particular, it investigates the relationship between language and truth. The philosophical teaching of Aquinas is followed, together with some contributions by Francisco Canals. The thesis is reached that the essence of friendly union consists in an intimate revelation of one's own personal life, which allows us to understand Revelation as a manifestation of divine Truth and a friendly communication of personal life in Christ.
