The author of the article poses a provocative question: Is the Holy Spirit a character of the Acts of the Apostles as much as the apostles? To answer this question, the author analyzes both the vocabulary used by the evangelist Luke and some passages from the Acts of the Apostles that mention the Holy Spirit. The analysis shows that the Holy Spirit not only enables the apostles to bear witness to the risen Christ but also guides and directs their mission. The apostles proclaim the “Word of God” ad ultimum terrae (Acts 1:8) enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit received from on high. In this way, the human and divine factors continue to work together and bring the mission entrusted to them to fulfillment.
