Problems of functioning of local government units on the example of the municipality of Łanięta in the years 2018-2020

Abstract

The main purpose of this article was to characterize the most crucial problems in the Łanięta commune based on the questionnaire entitled “The problems of Łanięta commune in the years 2018-2020 –the diagnosis of the commune’s residents,” which was created for the needs of my bachelor’s thesis. A research hypothesis formulated for the purpose of the survey was that the problems that exist in Łanięta commune hinder its development. The conducted survey confirmed the hypothesis. In the first part of the work, the basic theoretical issues concerning the local government were presented. The second part of the article was devoted to the concise characterization of the research area and the presentation of the results of the survey that was conducted among 24 residents of the Łanięta commune. The article was based on the literature on the subject, the analysis of the acts commonly applicable to the topic and the prepared questionnaire. What is more, the information contained on the website of the Łanięta Commune Office was also used.
